The Lamy 2000 piston fountain pen is very interesting for lovers of light writing instruments. Due to the centre of gravity, it lies in the middle of the writing instrument, combined with the low weight, very light in the hand. The short nib leads to a very direct writing feeling.

Remarkable is the piston mechanics. The rotating mechanism at the end of the body is virtually invisible, a masterpiece of Lamy engineering. The clip and the front part are made of brushed stainless steel. Another exception for Lamy is the selection of spring widths. This ranges from EF (extra fine) to OBB (Oblique double wide).

When the Lamy 2000 came into the shop window in 1966, it presented itself as a writing instrument that had never been seen before. One that didn't want to be a gold ornate status symbol, but a functionally designed, high-precision tool for writing by hand. Following the tradition of the Bauhaus.

The fact that the Lamy 2000 has cult status today proves the power of its formal idea. Whereby to the modern objectivity now also a new sensuality has come. The fountain pen has a 14-K/585 gold nib which is refined with platinum.
