Montblanc Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days Classique ballpoint
"Around the World in Eighty Days" is the famous adventure
novel by French writer Jules Verne, published in 1873. Mont Blanc brings this fantastic tale of world travel to life - not least through the elegant, highly graphic design elements inspired by motifs from the Victorian period of this adventure classic.
The blue hue and wave pattern of the Classique pen are inspired by the crossing of seas and oceans during the first part of the journey. The main characters travel to Brindisi, Italy, where they board a steamer and reach across the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean.
The wave pattern is reminiscent of the Victorian style used in the United Kingdom and the British Empire during this
Era from the 1830s to the 1890s.
in reference to the English card game "Whist" that was popular in the
18th and 19th centuries. The suits
refer to the betting set between Mr. Fogg and his friends from the Reform Club, and also to Fogg's playful personality.
