Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Hadrian Limited Edition 4810 fountain pen
Moctezuma I was crowned ruler of the Aztec Empire in 1440 and established the Golden Age of the Aztecs. During his reign, he gave the land of the Aztecs the face of an empire full of culture and mythology. Under his rule, the capital Tenochtitlán - today's Mexico City - experienced a true golden age.
The Montblanc Patron of Art Homage to Moctezuma I Limited Edition 4810 with champagne gold-plated fittings is dedicated to this special ruler, who came from one of the most extra-
most extraordinary cultures in the world. The overall design is inspired by an atlatl, the spear slinger of the Aztecs.
The shape of the cone, which has a hammered finish, is inspired by a ritual knife of the Aztecs, which had a blade made of obsidian. The colors of the lacquer in petrol blue and crimson are inspired by the colors of the royal cloak. The two hieroglyphics on the cap symbolize the years of Moctezuma I's reign.
The handcrafted, champagne-colored nib in solid 18K/750 gold is adorned with a delicate engraving inspired by the Aztec character for the city of Tenochtitlán: a three-armed cactus with a royal tiara and two scrolls.
The body is painted red, while the cap - with a pattern and coating of translucent lacquer - shines in petrol blue.
