The Patron of Art Edition of 2012 honours Joseph II, an emperor of reforms. With his enlightened policy, "Josephinism", Joseph II pursued extensive reforms, particularly in the social and cultural fields, which were groundbreaking. He abolished serfdom and torture, enforced denominational tolerance and promoted regional art policy, which brought Vienna to new heights as a cultural city. His love for music manifested itself particularly in the promotion of Mozart.

The cap and the cone are made of shiny lacquer with gold-plated fittings. The feather is decorated with a coat of arms.

Die Patron of Art Edition des Jahres 2012 ehrt Joseph II., einen Kaiser der Reformen. Mit seiner aufgeklärten Politik, dem "Josephinismus", verfolgte Joseph II. umfangreiche, vor allem im sozialen und kulturellen Bereich wegweisende Reformen. Er schaffte die Leibeigenschaft und Folter ab, setzte eine konfessionelle Toleranz durch und förderte die regionale Kunstpolitik, wodurch die Kulturstadt Wien zu neuer Blüte fand. Seine Liebe zur Musik äußerte sich besonders in der Förderung Mozarts.

Die Kappe und der Konus sind aus glänzendem Lack mit vergoldeten Beschlägen gefertigt. Die Feder wird von einem Wappen geschmückt.
